Dev Blogs: A Beginning

Welcome everyone to my first Wulverblade blog post! I’m Brian and I am part of Darkwind Media which has teamed up with Fully Illustrated to work on this awesome game. This should be just the first of many of these types of development updates.

It has been a few short months since development of Wulverblade kicked off. A lot has happened in those months. Working with Mike on the creative vision for the game and then taking his artwork and making it move and jump and attack and bleed has been fantastic. We’ve realized it is time to start letting everyone else know what we’ve been doing. It’s time to let people start to peek at Wulverblade’s progress.

In that spirit everyone on the team will be trying to contribute to regular (semi-regular?) development updates here on the blog. My initial plan is not to focus on an overall outline between posts but rather to just go over what we have been doing on the game recently and maybe give a few glimpses forward on what we are planning to do. Mixed in with these updates will be other news and future-focused posts. I’ve noticed some other groups have had successes posting video updates as well. I doubt we will have video for every post but I can understand how cool it would be see us working and there will also be times when we will really want to show specific features in gameplay.

I know this first post does not have a lot of meat to it. I am making a plan to do another post soon that will act as an introduction to the technology we’re using to make the game. It probably won’t have a lot of depth to it, but will act as more of a general overview of the choices we’ve made so far with tools, engines, plugins, etc.

  • Hey Brian! I’m looking forward to reading these updates! :)

Best of luck with the project!

Hey David, yeah me too ;) Brian and the rest of the dev team at Darkwind have posts planned, so there should be some good reading ahead. These guys have blown my mind with what they’ve achieved so far. They’re rather talented blighter’s ;)

Looking Great! The pic reminds me of an After Effects set up I had, love seeing animations come together.
